Supreme Court Upholds Individual Mandate

On the day this issue of the newsletter was submitted to the publisher, June 28, the US Supreme Court issued an opinion reflecting its decision that the individual mandate imposed by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is constitutional, in that it is within Congress’s power to tax (National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius). A full summary and analysis of this opinion will be in next month’s issue.
